USB device is developed in the mid of 1990. 

Basically, there are three kinds of USB connectors namely USB 1.1, 2.0, and 3.0 variants.

USB (Universal Serial Bus) thumb drives are small and portable. It can be read on any device.

This helps in transporting the data from one device to another device. Due to their portability in every device,data can easily lose.

Kinds of Universal Serial Bus-

 USB 1.1

This Type of USB is  Released in January 1996,at this time this type of USB transfers the data at 1.5 Mbit/s 

USB 2.0

This type of USB was released in April 2000,and this USB signaling rate of 480 Mbit/s called High Speed. It transfers the data at a rate of 35 MB/sec.

^{USB 3.0}

USB 3.0  was released in November 2008,It defines  a new SuperSpeed mode. It transfers the data at a rate of 400 MB/sec.

Ways To Protect USB Pendrive With Password-

 Method 1st:-   BitLock Encryption

One of the methods is Bitlock Encryption which is provided by Windows to protect our USB drive. When you insert the pen drive in your computer then you have to enter the bit lock to open the pen drive and browse  the files on your drive.

Steps To Encrypt USB Pendrive using Bitlock.

Step 1.  Firstly Insert your USB into Computer.

Step 2. Right click the USB drive you want to Encrypt.

Step 3. Select options turn on Bitlock from Menu.

Step 4. Tick the check box by using cursor in front of “use a password to unlock the drive”.

Step 5.  Click on next button after entering a password.

Step 6. Next step is to save and print Recovery key in case you forgot your password.

Step 7. click on next button and drive encryption will start.

Step 8. After the encryption is complete click on close button.

Method 2nd:- By Using  Wondershare USB Drive Encryption.

Wondershare USB Drive Encryption is software used to protect the USB drive and allow you to use a password  to encrypt and  decrypt the USB. This software allow you to make a secure area in your drive and  one more thing kept in mind that you can also protect the whole drive by using this software.

Steps To Encrypt USB Pendrive Using Wondershare.

Step 1. Open your browser then Download and install Wondershare USB Encryption from its official site.
Step 2. After downloading this software, Double click on its icon and Run this Program.

Step 3. Now,  Insert your USB into your computer.

Step 4.  Then,  Select your drive you want to encrypt from the list of USB. Choose drive as shown below -

Step 5. Select the Amount of volume you want to encrypt. You can also encrypt the whole volume.

Step 6. Click on  Install Button and install this.

Step 7. Enter a user name and Password for protection.

Step 8. Click OK to create secure Area.

Step 9. After progress click OK.

So these above some steps are some easiest and the best way to make password protected USB pendrive.

All steps are done and Now you can protect your USB.
